At Ellicott City Church, we celebrate a special day the first Saturday of every month. We call it KIDZFest, and it’s a whole day devoted to kids! We believe kids are super special, so we’ve come up with a fun, Bible-based way to help them get closer to Jesus.
A day at KIDZFest starts with registration followed by a brief period of singing before having breakfast. Following breakfast, the kids are transported to a different time and place. Costumes and decorations help set the scene for a fun adventure. Whether it’s a trip to Nazareth to learn about the life of Jesus, or an underwater dive into the deep, deep sea, kids have a great time learning the Bible through faith-based stories, science experiments, and games.
The afternoon program begins after a lunch of pizza, pasta, and salad. In the afternoon we focus on the Armor of God: learning ways to become stronger in our faith and how to stand strong on Bible promises. The activities are intended to help the children learn how to use God’s Word to fight against temptation.
Throughout the afternoon we allow time for supervised free play. We also plan activities that can be done outdoors. Sometimes we head to the park to fly our handmade kites, go geocaching, or on scavenger hunts using orienteering skills.
